Glenn Lawson and Grant Fenning founded the Lawson-Fenning company in 1997 while attending the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, where they emerged from the Environmental Design program with a concentration in furniture design.

In 1997 they opened their original store, Pasadena's Rm. 107, known for its eclectic mix of vintage modernist furniture and emerging contemporary West Coast designers. In 2000, they opened their namesake showroom, Lawson-Fenning, in the heart of Beverly Boulevard's design district. A popular destination with designers and architects, the showroom showcases seasonal collections alongside high-end pieces from around the world.

In August 2006, Lawson-Fenning opened their first concept store in the Silver Lake district of Los Angeles. The shop combines their aesthetic with a high-design, low-price retail formula. The goal of the concept store is to provide vintage and modern design together in a way that's affordable without looking mass-produced or over done.

our philosophy

Lawson-Fenning furniture takes its cues from vintage pieces, but combines new forms and materials to give each piece a modern spin. Combining the principles and craft of mid-century california and scandinavian design with traditional details and modern stylings, the pieces the pieces follow a line of thinking that furniture should be well-crafted, beautiful, and above all, useable in a variety of interior styles.

The concentration of the lawson-fenning line is on craft, versatility, and timelessness in every piece. All pieces are made in southern california using high quality materials and sustainable woods. Lawson-fenning's mid-century and vintage pieces are chosen with a curatorial eye that favors the best from californian to european 20th century design.
